Director of Integrative Precision Agriculture

The University of Georgia is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Director of the Institute for Integrative Precision Agriculture (IIPA). Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership to the IIPA, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes innovation and excellence in precision agriculture research, education, and extension.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive vision for the IIPA, aligning with the University of Georgia's strategic goals and priorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, industry partners, and government agencies.
- Oversee the development and implementation of research, education, and extension programs that address the needs of the agricultural industry and society.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to secure funding and resources to support IIPA initiatives.
- Develop and manage budgets, ensuring effective use of resources and achieving strategic objectives.
- Provide guidance and support to IIPA member faculty, promoting their research, education, and extension activities.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to inform IIPA initiatives.
- Ph.D. in a relevant field, such as agricultural engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
- Proven track record of leadership and management experience in a research, education, or extension setting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Experience with budget management and resource allocation.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and promote a culture of collaboration and innovation.
