The University of Georgia is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Director of the Institute for Integrative Precision Agriculture (IIPA). Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership to the IIPA, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes innovation and excellence in precision agriculture research, education, and extension.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive vision for the IIPA, aligning with the University of Georgia's strategic goals and priorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, industry partners, and government agencies.
- Oversee the development and implementation of research projects, educational programs, and extension activities that advance the goals of the IIPA.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and secure funding opportunities to support the IIPA's mission and goals.
- Develop and manage budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation and financial management.
- Provide guidance and support to IIPA member faculty, promoting their research, education, and extension activities.
- Ph.D. in a relevant field, such as agricultural sciences, engineering, or informatics.
- Proven track record of leadership and management experience in a research or academic setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, promoting teamwork and innovation.
