Advanced Weapons Systems Safety Engineer

We are seeking a talented System Safety Engineer to join our team in Northridge, CA. As an integral part of our multi-discipline engineering team, you will be on the forefront of developing next-generation solutions to protect technology for our nation's warfighter.

This position will require close collaboration with team members of other projects within the organization for security architecture designs as well as external partners and customers.

The successful candidate will be collaborative, open, transparent, and team-oriented with a focus on team empowerment and shared responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning, and a culture of automation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform system safety analysis of military weapon systems
  • Participate in risk assessments/resolution and mishap investigations
  • Develop safety documentation such as a System Safety Program Plan (SSPP), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), System/Subsystem Hazard Analysis (SHA/SuSHA), Bent Pin Analyses, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Safety Assessment Report (SAR) and Software Safety Analysis in support of customer requirements
  • Experience documenting hazards with a closed-loop Hazard Tracking System (HTS)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant degree with 5 years of relevant experience or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant degree with 3 years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with electrical circuit design
  • Experience with application of MIL-STD-882E to analyze, recommend, and drive safety into system design, equipment and procedures in order to mitigate or eliminate hazards

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
