Position Overview

As the primary leader of the retail location, the Retail Operations Leader is responsible for every facet of store performance, ensuring that all areas are engaged and achieving key objectives while delivering an exceptional guest experience. This role encompasses the recruitment and development of team members, fostering a culture of belonging and growth within the store. Consequently, the Retail Operations Leader guarantees that the store aligns with company values and directives, enhancing guest experiences, operational efficiency, product management, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Development
  • Foster a respectful and inclusive team culture that celebrates diversity, ensuring a supportive and enjoyable environment for all team members.
  • Establish a clear vision for the store, aligned with key metrics and initiatives, and communicate this effectively to the team.
  • Implement a strategic hiring approach to build a diverse and capable team that drives operational success.
  • Support continuous learning and development for all team members through feedback, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Address employee concerns and collaborate with internal resources to resolve issues appropriately.
Guest Engagement and Community Relations
  • Lead an outstanding guest experience by assessing guest interactions and providing technical product knowledge, while supporting team members in addressing any gaps.
  • Direct in-store team members to ensure an optimal guest experience that respects guests' time and enhances store operations.
  • Manage urgent guest requests and escalations effectively.
  • Enhance brand visibility in the community by building and maintaining relationships with local ambassadors, community influencers, and partners.
  • Plan and execute community initiatives and projects that resonate with local interests.
Operational Excellence and Strategy
  • Oversee store visual merchandising and product strategies, executing company-led initiatives effectively.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage product deliveries in accordance with visual merchandising standards.
  • Conduct high-level planning for the store, considering strategy, budget, and labor management.
  • Manage the store's profit and loss (P&L) in alignment with sales and budget goals.
  • Lead from the sales floor to assess and meet the needs of the business, team, and guests through coaching and development.
  • Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Perform duties in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
Budget Accountability
  • Responsible for managing controllable budgets, labor hours, and annual sales targets.
Team Leadership
  • Directly oversee all store leadership roles and manage the hiring and termination processes for store employees.

Job Requirements

Eligibility
  • Must be authorized to work in the country where the store is located.
  • Must have reliable transportation to commute to the assigned store.
Schedule/Availability
  • Work hours may vary, including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year in people management, including recruitment and performance accountability.
  • At least 1 year of experience managing business operations, including retail scheduling and labor management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2 years of retail or sales management experience.
Work Environment
  • Work is conducted in a vibrant environment with bright lights and music.
  • Collaboration is essential, along with independent work.
  • Conflict resolution and guest issue mediation may be required.
  • Engagement with new individuals and strengthening community partnerships is key.
  • Work may involve using computers or technical devices for virtual meetings.
  • Physical activity includes moving throughout the store and occasionally lifting boxes up to 30 lbs.
Compensation and Benefits

At lululemon, we believe in rewarding exceptional performance. The base salary for this role ranges from $73,530 - $99,484 annually, with the final offer based on market location and individual qualifications. This position also includes a target bonus of 30%, subject to specific criteria, potentially bringing total annual compensation to $95,589 - $129,329.
