POSITION SUMMARY: The Housekeeping Supervisor is tasked with ensuring that guest rooms, work areas, and hotel facilities are maintained in a pristine and orderly fashion. This role involves coordinating daily operations and upholding housekeeping standards. The supervisor will oversee room attendants, laundry staff, and housepersons to guarantee an exceptional guest experience. Regular inspections of guest accommodations and public areas will be conducted to ensure compliance with brand cleaning and appearance standards. The supervisor should possess comprehensive knowledge of housekeeping policies and hotel procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the efficient operation of assigned housekeeping areas.
  • Supervise Room Attendants, Housepersons, and Laundry Staff.
  • Organize and streamline the room preparation process.
  • Allocate daily room assignments and deep cleaning tasks to the team.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of guest rooms, hallways, and service areas.
  • Inspect occupied and departing rooms, paying special attention to guest requirements.
  • Manage guest requests and communicate them to relevant departments.
  • Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms to ensure they meet established standards.
  • Maintain awareness of all room types and their amenities.
  • Address guest inquiries promptly and effectively.
  • Implement lost and found procedures.
  • Report maintenance issues to the appropriate department.
  • Assist the Executive Housekeeper or Assistant General Manager with training initiatives.
  • Advocate for the needs of the housekeeping team within the hotel.
  • Adhere to hotel security, fire safety regulations, and health legislation.
  • Support other departments as needed and foster positive working relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and carry for extended periods typical of a housekeeping role.
  • Capability to push up to 75 lbs. and lift/carry up to 25 lbs.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior experience in a hotel setting is highly preferred.
  • Two to three years of experience in hotel housekeeping.
  • Experience in managing or leading a team is essential.
