Radiation Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Mount Sinai Health System. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of radiation oncology.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately set up patients for treatment, ensuring precise positioning and alignment.
- Administer radiation treatments, utilizing advanced technology and equipment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed treatment records, facilitating seamless communication among healthcare professionals.
- Perform simple dose calculations using computer software, ensuring precise treatment delivery.
- Verify and localize treatment areas using radiographic film or electronic media, submitting films for review and approval.
- Interpret beam films to determine accuracy and ensure compliance with radiation oncologist prescriptions.
- Understand and utilize equipment to its full potential, including wedges and compensating filters.
- Communicate effectively with patients, addressing concerns and alleviating fears.
- Report any unusual or adverse patient reactions to the appropriate staff member.
- Assist in the evaluation of students and maintain an organized treatment room.
- Graduate of an approved, two-year, hospital-based certificate program, two-year associate degree program, or four-year baccalaureate degree program in Radiation Therapy.
- ARRT registered or eligible for registration within the field of Radiation Therapy.
