Radiation Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Mount Sinai Health System. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of radiation oncology.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Radiation Therapy: Administer radiation therapy to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions provided by Radiation Oncologists, ensuring accuracy of dosage and eliminating errors.
- Image Interpretation: Take and interpret port-images to determine accuracy, ensuring images are reviewed and approved by Radiation Oncologists.
- Treatment Preparation: Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for patients, including immobilization devices, field parameters, and beam shaping, and explain procedures to patients.
- Patient Monitoring: Observe and report changes in patients' conditions to Radiation Oncologists or radiation therapy nurses, recording treatment administered in patients' charts and record/verify systems.
- Quality Assurance: Perform daily QA and safety checks as required by regulations, maintaining equipment in safe and good working condition.
- Equipment Maintenance: Report defects or deficiencies for adjustment and repair to the chief technologist and/or medical physicist.
- Work Area Maintenance: Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition, stocking and replenishing supplies as needed.
- Graduate of an AMA-approved school in radiation therapy.
- One year of experience in clinical therapeutic radiation therapy, or equivalent experience in an approved school's clinical rotation.
