About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Splunk Technical Consultant to join our team at ZipRecruiter. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Splunk, network security, and system security, with a proven track record of success in supporting security information and event management tools (SIEMs).

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

Job Description

As a Splunk Technical Consultant, you will be responsible for enabling customer success by providing a well-rounded consulting experience from project kickoff through completion. This includes operating and maintaining the Splunk log management infrastructure, leveraging knowledge of various security technologies, information security, and networking.

You will also be required to develop security-focused content for complex client Splunk deployments, create advanced reports to meet the requirements of key stakeholders, and conduct research in areas such as security principles, host and network-based security technologies, machine learning algorithms, and mitigation methods.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical consulting or big data analytics experience
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Splunk, network security, and system security, supporting SIEMs
  • 2+ years of experience with rule and advanced logic creation within Splunk
  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Experience with using scripting to automate tasks and manipulate data
  • Experience with working in a large enterprise environment
  • Experience with integrating solutions in a multi-vendor environment, including SaaS environments
