Key Responsibilities of the Cost Accountant:

  • Establish and uphold manufacturing overhead cost allocations and cost standards for production equipment.
  • Evaluate prior standard costing to confirm accuracy and relevance.
  • Revise and enhance the internal cost documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering on project planning, cost estimation, and identifying cost drivers for processes and products.
  • Ensure that accounting software reflects the actual Bill of Materials (BOM) utilized in production, with costs aligned to current standards.
  • Support the accounting team with account reconciliations as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications for the Cost Accountant:

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in cost accounting or cost analysis is preferred.
