Job Overview

Morrison Express is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Customer Service Specialist. This role will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to our clients, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of their queries and concerns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support client onboarding for all products, including air, ocean, imports, exports, and customs brokerage.
  • Coordinate with the operations team to establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure their effective implementation through systems, people training, and coordination with sales.
  • Interact with the sales team account owners on a daily basis, providing support for all customer service inquiries, both directly with customers and indirectly from the sales team.
  • Align client reporting and retention, providing face-to-face interaction with customers and penetrating them to secure more business.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of our products, including AE, AI, SE, SI, and warehouse operations.
  • Perform data entry, document upload, and monitoring of customer and third-party vendor cloud-based portals.
  • Monitor EDI via FTP folders, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to ensure all data is properly aligned with customer reports and the MEC operating system.
  • Ensure teamwork within the MEC LAX station and other stations in the network.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of all clients and files from an operations and sales perspective.
  • Manage third-party billing for all product support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in the forwarding industry, with a solid understanding of export/import processes in the Americas region.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Good planning, problem-solving, and organization skills, with the ability to multitask and be a self-starter.
  • Must be detail-oriented, thorough, accurate, and able to efficiently solve problems with strong PC skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications.
  • Strong experience in air, ocean, and brokerage to lead main LAX products, with air imports experience being necessary.
  • Knowledge of warehousing products to articulate business.
  • Freight forwarding experience is desirable, with the ability to coordinate with team members and align them to be successful from an operational/sales standpoint.
  • Customer service experience is desirable to deal with clients directly, with the ability to do quotations, reporting, and reply promptly to requests from clients.
