Position Summary:

The Operator I is responsible for the operation and maintenance of sludge treatment, dewatering, processing, disposal, and testing equipment within an industrial setting. This role is crucial for ensuring that water purification meets customer specifications and complies with state discharge permit regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain various equipment, including pumps, engines, centrifuges, generators, valves, mixers, and chemical feed systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing wastewater laboratory equipment.
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment and be open to taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards while consistently meeting processing requirements.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

The role involves spending 100% of the time in an operational environment, which may include outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Employees may encounter potential hazards such as fumes, toxic chemicals, and heavy machinery.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Some experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to utilize computer programs for process control.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and comprehending English, including operational and safety instructions.
  • Basic mathematical skills are required.
  • Must be able to serve on a rotational 24-hour emergency on-call basis if necessary.
Certifications:
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
