Position Summary
We are currently seeking a dedicated Utility Operator to contribute to our operations. This role is vital in supporting the senior operator in managing kiln operations, ensuring optimal safety, quality, and productivity standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness by managing spillage and reclaiming uncontaminated materials as directed.
  • Operate necessary mobile equipment, ensuring proper checks on oil, water, battery, and fuel levels.
  • Monitor calcining processes and report any irregularities to the senior operator.
  • Perform minor repairs and assist maintenance teams as required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards in all work areas.
  • Report any injuries immediately to supervisory personnel.
  • Contribute to the development of safety procedures for material handling tasks.
  • Engage in continuous communication with supervisors and team members regarding daily operations.
  • Assist in various production tasks as needed.
  • Operate ship loading equipment in accordance with established procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Relevant operational experience is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities are necessary.

Physical Requirements

  • Work environment may include exposure to extreme conditions and inclement weather.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be capable of working in confined spaces and at elevated heights.
  • Experience handling petroleum coke products and working with respiratory protection is required.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and heavy machinery is necessary.
  • Must be able to pass physical fitness assessments and safety training.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts as needed.
