Job Summary
This position is responsible for formulating and implementing individual and group interventions in the areas of reintegration planning and substance abuse treatment. The specialist will conduct evaluations using evidenced-based evaluation rating tools, implement case and treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based substance abuse programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement therapeutic and behavioral interventions to improve a person's success in completing program requirements
- Conduct evaluations using evidenced-based evaluation rating tools

Requirements
Applicants must possess a current Substance Abuse Counselor credential issued by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services. An applicant may also apply to be considered if they have applied for a SAC-IT credential with DSPS and meet all other criteria.
Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary range of $27.02/hour - $33.33/hour, with the potential for an additional $1.00 to $2.00 per hour add-on pay based on the type of SAC credential possessed. Candidates with no prior permanent employment with the State of Wisconsin in the past 5 years may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of $2,000.
Work Environment
This position is located within the Department of Corrections and requires working in a correctional facility setting. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
