Job Summary

Tate, Inc. is seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our team at our new manufacturing facility in Russell County, Virginia. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of materials, supporting production lines, and contributing to the overall success of our manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Material Handling: Safely and efficiently move materials within the facility using various equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand carts.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels by conducting regular counts and reconciling any discrepancies.
  • Receiving and Storage: Receive incoming materials, verify quantities, and store items in designated areas, ensuring proper organization for easy retrieval.
  • Production Support: Fulfills production orders by accurately picking materials from inventory and delivering them to the appropriate production areas.
  • Quality Control: Perform visual inspections of materials for damage or defects and report any issues to supervisors.
  • Record Keeping: Keep detailed records of material transactions, update inventory systems, and complete necessary paperwork.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 2+ years warehouse and shipping experience required.
  • Skills: Basic math skills, ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Equipment Operation: Ability to operate forklift, combi-lift, and other equipment as required.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products and ability to use online real-time manufacturing control systems.
