Position Overview:


The Manager of Clinical Nutrition Services oversees the leadership, operations, and management of nutrition-related services across various healthcare facilities.

This role employs advanced critical thinking and extensive knowledge to provide exceptional Medical Nutrition Therapy services while ensuring cost-effective patient care.

The Manager collaborates closely with facility leadership and clinical partners to align departmental objectives with organizational goals.


Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, primarily onsite with some remote work options available.
This position encompasses multiple hospitals and outpatient clinics.
Full-time commitment of 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide strategic leadership to cultivate a high-performing clinical nutrition team across various locations, fostering an accountable work environment.
2. Partner with culinary services management to ensure a smooth integration of the nutrition care process.
3. Manage human resource functions including hiring, staffing, training, mentoring, performance evaluation, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
4. Mentor and guide team members to ensure clarity in roles and responsibilities, while identifying professional development opportunities to enhance job satisfaction.
5. Direct the delivery of medical nutrition therapy and the nutrition care process in accordance with established policies, organizational values, and regulatory standards.

6. Develop and execute departmental strategic plans and initiatives that align with system strategies to enhance efficiency and quality of Medical Nutrition Therapy.

7. Collaborate with System-level Directors to establish financial objectives, assist in budget planning, forecasting, and productivity measurement while maintaining financial viability.

8. Initiate and participate in research and continuous quality improvement projects, integrating findings into evidence-based practices.

9. Actively engage as a member of the Clinical Nutrition Operations Council and other interdisciplinary teams to standardize nutrition care practices.


Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in dietetics, nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Dietitian licensure or certification as mandated by the state licensing board for the employee's primary work location (to be obtained within two months of hire).
- Registered Dietitian credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Successful completion of an accredited Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) program.
- A minimum of five years of clinical nutrition experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of current medical nutrition therapy practices.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet, email, and scheduling applications.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in dietetics, nutrition, management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Specialty certifications such as CDE, CSP, CSR, CNSC, etc.
- Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics or other relevant professional organizations.
- Demonstrated research experience and publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Proficient in operating computers and other necessary equipment.
- Capability to see and read computer screens and documents.
- Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods while performing tasks on a computer or other equipment.
