Work Environment and Physical Demands The work is conducted in a well-lit, ventilated, and climate-controlled environment. The medical assistant may encounter unpleasant odors, sights, and sounds. The role requires prolonged periods of standing or sitting, along with mobility within the unit. There are inherent risks of exposure to diseases, infections, physical strain, and potential assault. Additionally, the medical assistant may be exposed to blood, bodily fluids, tissues, radiation, and antineoplastic agents. The ability to independently lift or reposition up to 25 lbs is essential. Required Qualifications Education: Completion of an accredited Certified Medical Assistant training program. Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a CMA in a clinical environment is preferred, with prior work history taken into account. Certifications and Licenses A valid CMA Certificate in the State of Kentucky is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification must be obtained within three (3) months of employment.
