Fourth Floor is seeking a skilled Technical Designer to lead the design lifecycle of our Girls/Boy/Toddler/Baby division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the technical design process, from initial concept to production fit approval.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain technical packs throughout the line creation process.
  • Lead fit sessions to establish brand aesthetic and proportion within price points.
  • Create and maintain specification packages to meet design and financial goals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders for clear direction on design aesthetic and construction.
  • Develop specifications and construction methods for product categories, ensuring cost efficiency.
  • Resolve technical issues related to fit, execution, fabric application, and grading.
  • Evaluate prototype and fit samples for accuracy and quality.
  • Ensure brand consistency in aesthetic, fit, and construction.
  • Communicate with cross-functional teams to meet calendar milestones.
  • Proactively identify and resolve production, quality, and costing issues.
  • Stay updated on market trends.

Requirements:

  • College Degree
  • 5-10 years of Technical Design Experience
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Experience with PLM systems, Adobe Illustrator, and 3D design.
  • Expertise in apparel fitting, spec/block creation, and pattern correction.
