Position Overview:

Chewy is seeking a Senior Veterinary Learning and Development Trainer to enhance our remote training initiatives. This role is pivotal in shaping the onboarding journey and ongoing education for our veterinary team. The Senior Trainer will elevate the educational experience while imparting essential knowledge regarding policies, procedures, and organizational culture. Our goal is to ensure a cohesive and impactful learning experience that enhances the performance of all veterinary team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Focus on delivering comprehensive training content to new members of the veterinary team.
  • Implement effective and consistent training methodologies utilizing blended learning techniques.
  • Facilitate engaging Instructor-Led Training (ILT) and Virtually Instructor-Led Training (VILT) sessions.
  • Provide feedback on trainee performance and areas for improvement to management and stakeholders post-training.
  • Offer real-time coaching to trainees in a constructive manner, including corrective feedback when necessary.
  • Conduct training sessions for trainers to enhance their instructional skills.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams as a subject matter expert to develop and refine training programs tailored to learner needs.
  • Foster engagement through interactive facilitation and collaboration, embodying a customer-centric mindset.
  • Convey information in an engaging and comprehensible manner.
  • Identify and address gaps in the learning experience to drive business advancement.

Qualifications:

  • Active Veterinary Technician License/Certification (CVT, LVT, RVT) required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in training and educational program development.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in small animal veterinary practice or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in facilitation with a solid understanding of adult learning principles.
  • Capable of guiding and developing new hires through the onboarding process.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated capacity to translate business objectives into actionable training strategies.
  • Proficient in training delivery and facilitation techniques.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Willingness to travel extensively for training purposes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Previous experience in customer service or a high-volume service-oriented environment is advantageous.
