Ambulatory Transportation Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Ambulatory Driver to join our team at Express Medical Transporters. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for safely transporting patients to and from their destinations in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure safe operation and report any maintenance or repair needs.
- Maintain accurate transport records, including times and passenger information, adhering to all HIPAA regulations.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle and adhere to predefined routes and schedules.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding patient pick-up and drop-off.
- Ensure the vehicle is clean and sanitized.
- Handle any emergency situations or passenger needs during transport in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs required by the employer or state regulations.
- Collaborate with Student Monitor to ensure safe and compassionate transportation of passengers.
Requirements
- Valid Class E driver's license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Ability to pass a physical examination and drug screening.
- Familiarity with GPS and navigation systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Flexible schedule.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and safety protocols.
- Experience in healthcare or patient transport (preferred).
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Punctuality and reliability in attending scheduled shifts.
- Capacity to work calmly under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Patience and empathy towards patients with mental or physical disabilities.
- Ability to document transport details accurately and submit reports as required.
