Position Overview:

The Robotics Autonomy Engineer will spearhead the innovation and development of autonomous multi-agent robotic systems across diverse operational landscapes and mission objectives. This role requires a unique blend of software and hardware expertise to architect, construct, evaluate, and showcase cutting-edge autonomy functionalities that tackle intricate client challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and development for advanced autonomy solutions tailored for Department of Defense (DoD) clientele.
  • Independently navigate complex technical challenges, delivering inventive solutions and providing guidance to junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Utilize leading-edge principles and methodologies to enhance the field of robotics autonomy.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in robotics or engineering related to equipment systems or hardware.
  • Proficiency in Robot Operating Systems (ROS) and the ability to develop custom messages, nodes, packages, or stacks.
  • Experience in software maintenance and deployment, including version control, CI/CD, packaging, containerization, and documentation.
  • Strong backend software development skills in C++ or Python for embedded Linux environments.
  • Expertise in algorithms and software support for mobile robotic sensing, perception, localization, navigation, and behaviors in aerial or terrestrial domains.
  • Exceptional communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing architectures and algorithms for collaborative multi-agent autonomy.
  • Familiarity with Docker for image development and container deployment.
  • Knowledge of Git-based version control systems and strategies for branching or tagging.
  • Understanding of military strategies, operations, and tactics.
  • Capability to formulate strategies for internal R&D initiatives aligned with specific business objectives.
  • Leadership experience in guiding diverse technical teams through strategy formulation, project planning, and execution.
  • Proven ability to engage professionally with clients to ascertain their needs and present solutions.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

Clearance Requirements:

Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information.
