Position Overview:

The Robotics Autonomy Engineer will spearhead the innovation and development of advanced multi-agent robotic systems across diverse operational environments and mission objectives. This role requires a unique blend of software and hardware expertise to conceptualize, construct, evaluate, and showcase cutting-edge autonomy features that solve intricate client challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive research and development initiatives focused on novel autonomy solutions for Department of Defense clients.
  • Utilize advanced principles and methodologies to contribute to the evolution of new concepts in robotics.
  • Work autonomously on complex technical challenges, delivering innovative solutions and providing guidance to junior engineers.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in robotics or engineering related to equipment systems or hardware.
  • Proficiency with Robot Operating Systems (ROS) and the ability to develop custom messages, nodes, packages, or stacks.
  • Experience in software maintenance and deployment, including version control, CI/CD, packaging, and documentation.
  • Backend software development skills in C++ or Python for embedded Linux systems.
  • Expertise in algorithms and software support for mobile robot functionalities such as sensing, perception, localization, navigation, and behaviors in aerial or terrestrial domains.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex technical topics effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing architectures and algorithms for multi-agent, distributed collaborative autonomy.
  • Familiarity with Docker for image development and container deployment.
  • Knowledge of Git-based version control and branching strategies.
  • Understanding of military strategies, operations, and tactics.
  • Capability to formulate strategies for internal research and development aligned with business objectives.
  • Leadership experience in guiding technical teams through project planning and execution.
  • Ability to engage professionally with clients to understand their needs and present solutions.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

Compensation Structure:

Compensation is determined by multiple factors, including location, education, skills, and experience. The typical salary range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 annually.
