We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Technician or Lab Specialist to join our team at the University of Virginia, Department of Anesthesiology. The successful candidate will assist in conducting research studies, managing laboratory operations, and providing technical support to our team.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research studies and experiments under the guidance of the Principal Investigator
- Manage laboratory operations, including ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, and organizing records
- Provide technical support to team members, including training and guidance on laboratory procedures
- Assist in data collection, analysis, and presentation
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve research goals
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of laboratory research and/or surgical experience working with mice or other small animals
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and other computer software systems
- Excellent organizational and timeline management skills
- Able to work effectively in a team environment
- Bachelor's or higher degree in a related field
- Over 3 years of laboratory experience, with particular emphasis on working with rodents
- Interest in basic neuroscience, stroke, and/or anesthesiology research
