Position Summary:

The Coordinator is tasked with greeting patients promptly and courteously, ensuring that all individuals, both external and internal, receive the utmost respect and attention. A critical aspect of this position is to maintain a secure and supportive environment for patients throughout the registration process.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver outstanding customer service to patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders. Conduct interviews with patients and their families to gather essential demographic and financial details for registration and scheduling. Accurately document all collected demographic information. Initiate the insurance verification process and ensure comprehensive coverage checks. Meet departmental goals related to accuracy, collections, and productivity. Ensure all necessary forms are completed, explained, and signed by the patient or an authorized representative. Communicate financial responsibilities to patients and collect payments as required. Complete necessary questionnaires for eligible patients. Exhibit proficiency in the registration and financial clearance processes. Maintain high levels of efficiency and accuracy in all tasks. Verify patient information to prevent duplicate records. Adhere to organizational policies regarding patient rights and advance directives. Provide patients with all regulatory documents and ensure proper signatures are obtained. Seek additional responsibilities to maintain departmental productivity during slower periods. Prioritize customer needs and report any service issues to management. Demonstrate initiative in problem-solving and escalate issues when necessary. Foster a positive work environment and collaborate effectively with nursing and ancillary departments. Participate in training and development activities to enhance team capabilities. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience in customer service. Familiarity with registration processes and billing regulations. Knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency in computer applications.

Preferred:

Experience in patient access roles.

Work Schedule:

Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM. Availability for weekdays, including alternate weekends and holidays. Full-time position.
