Design Technologist

At Block, we're building a more inclusive economy where our customers have equal access to opportunity. We're seeking a talented Design Technologist to join our Proto team, where you'll help bring our products to life through creative, interactive experiences.

About the Role

You'll work closely with our design and marketing peers to brainstorm innovative solutions that achieve our team goals and strategy. Your expertise in front-end development, prototyping tools, and animation will enable you to create best-in-class web experiences that delight our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with design and marketing teams to develop creative solutions that meet our team's objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of systems and standards for our marketing platforms across all product lines within Proto.
  • Work collaboratively across multiple teams to ship remarkable solutions on a fast-paced team that operates like a startup within a larger company.
  • Develop ideation prototypes to create custom content experiences and quickly demonstrate what an idea looks and feels like in real life.
  • Evaluate and document any creative or engineering standards or patterns that could arise from your work.
Requirements
  • BS in Computer Science or a related technical field, and/or 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Backend development experience in a modern development language such as Ruby, Java, or similar.
  • A portfolio of work that displays responsive web examples, iconography, typography, color, imagery, and motion.
  • A history of collaboration with non-technical team members.
  • Skills to work on complex problems with any audience in verbal, visual, or written formats.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
