RN SUPERVISOR ROLE SUMMARY

Our campus is committed to providing top-notch Subacute Rehabilitation and Long-Term Skilled Nursing Care, ensuring that our patients receive the finest rehabilitation and nursing services following their hospital stay.

  • The RN Supervisor is responsible for organizing, overseeing, and managing unit activities and staff assignments while demonstrating clinical expertise aligned with established Nursing Practice standards.
  • This role requires timely and appropriate responses to patient needs.
  • Responsibilities include monitoring, observing, and documenting vital signs, treatments administered, and patient responses.
  • The RN Supervisor will administer medications and treatments as necessary.
  • Effective communication and direction of services to team members, residents, families, or medical staff are essential.
  • It is important to identify and follow disciplinary actions as outlined in policy.
  • Collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, physicians, and other service providers is crucial.
  • Conduct RN assessments for residents following incidents or changes in condition.
  • Lead and manage emergency situations, including fire alarms and elopement incidents.
  • Maintain accurate nursing reports, staffing sheets, and census rosters.

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid RN License in the State of New York.
  • Experience with geriatric, short-term rehabilitation, or Alzheimer's patients is preferred.
  • Progressive nursing experience in a geriatric setting, with supervisory experience being advantageous.
  • A commitment to providing extraordinary, compassionate care to each resident.
  • A genuine interest in assisting ill, injured, disabled, elderly, or emotionally distressed residents.
  • Possess patience and a willingness to support residents and colleagues.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills are required.
  • Able to perform well under pressure, demonstrate flexibility, and work harmoniously with all staff members.
  • *Covid-19 vaccinations are encouraged but NOT MANDATED; we continue to offer COVID-19 vaccination based on eligibility guidance from CDC.
