Job Title: Youth Program Aide

Join the City of Hampton's Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services Department as a dedicated and energetic Youth Program Aide. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about engaging with the community, creating a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for all participants.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will assist Youth Program Leaders in planning and conducting before and after-school programs, summer day camps, summer playground activities, and other recreational programs. This position requires effective communication with internal and external customers, shift work, and the ability to work under supervision according to set procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning and conducting recreational programs for school-age children
  • Work under supervision to ensure program success
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • May be considered essential personnel during City emergency situations
Requirements:
  • High school graduation or completion of a GED
  • Experience working in programmatic group care of children or adults preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire
  • Pass a Child Protective Services check and criminal background check
  • Successfully pass pre-employment testing for alcohol and controlled substances
