Aquatic Fitness Instructor Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Aquatic Fitness Instructor to join our team at the Derby Recreation Commission.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and developing exercise programs for our aquatic fitness classes, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for our participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Coordinate and develop exercise programs on assigned dates and times, taking into account the needs and preferences of our participants.
  • Attendance and Reporting: Take accurate daily attendance reports and submit them on the proper form.
  • Program Improvement: Make recommendations for the improvement of the program to the Fitness Coordinator.
  • Facility Maintenance: Ensure that facilities and equipment are properly maintained and in good working order.
  • Communication: Carry out all duties assigned by the Fitness Coordinator, including attending training and workshops as required.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge and Experience: Possess proper knowledge of exercise programs and have experience in group fitness instruction or related teaching experience.
  • Certifications: Hold valid CPR/PR and First Aid certifications.
  • Personal Qualities: Be energetic, proficient in promoting a progressive program, and able to pass pre-employment screening.
