Patient Access Representative Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative Associate to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. As a Patient Access Representative Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration process for patients, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient information.
Key Responsibilities- Greet and welcome patients in person, providing a positive and professional first impression.
- Collect and verify demographic and insurance information, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Check in and interview patients to complete necessary paperwork, ensuring a seamless registration process.
- Direct patients to their appointments or procedures, providing clear instructions and support.
- Assist with scheduling add-on appointments and resolving claim issues or registration errors on patient accounts.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits information, interpreting results and providing clear explanations to patients.
- Collect co-pays or deductibles, responding to questions regarding financial assistance programs and referring complex cases as needed.
- Screen and approve patients for financial assistance programs, assisting with the application process and providing technical direction to employees.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inbound and outbound telephone calls and mentoring other staff members as needed.
- 6+ months of customer service experience in an office or hospital setting.
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work 32 hours/week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday in 8-hour shifts, starting between 6:30am-7:30am.
- Ability to work within standard daytime hours of Monday-Friday for the first 3 weeks in alignment with the training schedule.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Flexibility to occasionally work other shifts as business requires.
- Revenue cycle experience.
- General office experience.
- Epic experience.
- Quality communication skills.
- Dependability.
