Perioperative Nurse

The Corpus Christi Medical Center Bay Area is seeking a skilled Perioperative Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced operating room environment.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and deliver patient-centered care in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.
- Assume responsibility for preparation of the surgical suite, including verification of OR schedules, area safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
- Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols.
- Circulate or scrub for surgical procedures, serving as a first assistant as needed.
- Monitor patient vital signs and comfort level throughout the procedure, promptly alerting the surgical team to any changes in status or potential harm.
- Recognize signs and symptoms of patient conditions that indicate complications and report to the surgeon/anesthesiologist immediately.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
- 1 year of applicable experience.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Nursing.
