Registered Nurse Medical Unit Part Time

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Corpus Christi Medical Center Bay Area. As a Registered Nurse RN PACU PRN, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and their families.
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse RN PACU PRN will be responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department. You will work collaboratively with medical providers and other members of the care team to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled and/or as needed, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Assess patient environment for any safety risks and/or non-compliance with regulatory standards.
- Reports any indications of abuse or neglect to medical provider(s), nurse leader, and/or appropriate agency.
- Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
- Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Provides exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests.
- Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures.
- Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
- Manages a care team, providing oversight and delegation to members as appropriate.
- Manages evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures and enhance the exceptional care provided to patients.
- Manages the quality of care by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan that promotes and supports recovery.
- Manages the continuation of care by serving as the interface between healthcare providers and community support systems who coordinate ongoing care needs for specialized patient groups.
- Demonstrates necessary practical, technical, or specialized skills required for the perioperative nurse, in accordance with AORN and other regulatory standards of practice.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelors Degree, or Associate Degree
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Perioperative nursing experience preferred
