About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified faculty member to join our Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences in the College of Health Professions at Virginia Commonwealth University. As a Clinical Coordinator and Instructor, you will play a critical role in shaping the next generation of medical laboratory scientists.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in immunohematology, with opportunities for additional teaching assignments based on your expertise and departmental needs.
  • Contribute to the scholarship and research of the department's faculty and students, promoting a culture of innovation and discovery.
  • Serve on departmental, college, and university committees, representing the department in a professional capacity and fostering collaboration with colleagues.
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their academic and professional goals.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in medical laboratory science or a related field.
  • Nationally recognized MLS or MT certification (specialist and/or generalist).
  • Experience teaching in an academic or clinical environment, with excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Academic or laboratory administrative experience, with a proven track record of organization and multitasking.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment, with experience working with students from underrepresented minority and/or historically marginalized communities.
