Role Overview:
The Director of Risk Management is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive risk management strategies within the healthcare facility. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all risk-related activities align with the organization's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Uphold and advocate for the mission and values of Covenant Health.
2. Manage the completion of incident documentation, including reports of potential claims and corrective action plans.
3. Supervise the patient grievance process to ensure adherence to organizational policies and regulatory standards.
4. Perform additional responsibilities as required by the role.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to maintain effectiveness in diverse environments and with varying responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in healthcare or a related discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in healthcare risk management within an acute care environment is strongly preferred.
- Certification as a CPHRM is highly desirable.
Working Conditions:
The position requires the physical and mental capacity to perform tasks typically associated with risk management, including sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs may be necessary. The role may involve stress due to the high level of responsibility for ensuring quality care.
