Medical Customer Service Representative

Medical Customer Service Specialist (MCSS) - Imaging Practice Management Full-time 1st shift Monday- Friday 9am-5pm Travel required
**Job Summary:**
The Medical Customer Service Specialist performs a variety of duties including greeting and checking in patients/visitors, scheduling appointments, answering incoming calls, taking messages, collecting co-pays, scanning medical documentation, identifying insurance coverage, working with patient referrals, end of day closing tasks, and tasking using Electronic Health Records (E.H.R.).
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Greet and check in patients/visitors in a professional and courteous manner
* Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
* Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries
* Take messages and relay information to patients and staff
* Collect co-pays and process payments
* Scan medical documentation and maintain accurate records
* Identify insurance coverage and verify patient information
* Work with patient referrals and coordinate care
* Perform end of day closing tasks and maintain accurate records
**Requirements:**
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Previous medical office experience preferred
* Excellent customer service skills
* Ability to learn and navigate computer applications
* Strong English communication skills
* Ability to multi-task and work efficiently
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines
* Minimum typing speed of 30 wpm required
