Medical Customer Service Specialist

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Customer Service Specialist to join our team at Florida Health Care Plans. As a key member of our practice management team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our patients and visitors.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Greet and check in patients/visitors, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
* Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to minimize wait times
* Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner
* Collect co-pays and process payments accurately
* Scan medical documentation and maintain accurate records
* Identify insurance coverage and verify patient information
* Work with patient referrals and coordinate care as needed
* Perform end-of-day closing tasks and maintain a clean and organized workspace

**Requirements:**

* High school diploma or equivalent
* Previous medical office experience preferred
* Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks efficiently
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines
* Minimum typing speed of 30 wpm required
