Position Overview

The primary objective of this role is to identify, create, and enhance communication strategies for diverse audiences, both external and internal. This position requires a commitment to working on-site at our designated campus for a minimum of three days each week, with potential for additional days as necessary.

This is a full-time position with benefits, and it will remain open until filled.

Salary Range: $46,000 to $49,000 annually

Applicants are required to submit 3-5 writing samples tailored for specific audiences. Acceptable examples include marketing emails, social media content, donor correspondence, solicitations, reports, and blog entries. Please provide these samples as PDFs or links.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and refine a variety of content aimed at specific audiences, including clients and donors, for the Institute's communication platforms, such as blog articles, website content, direct mail, social media, newsletters, and press releases.
  • Identify and narrate stories that reflect the mission and vision of the Institute, showcasing valuable examples of the Rockefeller Ethic.
  • Act as the primary writer for donor communications, including direct mail and email outreach.
  • Collaborate with the content team to create, manage, and implement various digital marketing initiatives.
  • Support the marketing manager in maintaining and coordinating the content calendar, ensuring timely execution of projects.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of content and communication channels, providing insights and recommendations to the Chief Advancement Officer for improvements.
  • Lead the creation of the employee newsletter, coordinating contributions from various stakeholders.
  • Assist the Chief Advancement Officer in formulating marketing and development strategies for the Institute.
Additional Duties
  • Provide assistance for special projects and events initiated by the marketing and development teams.
  • Research trends in content marketing and offer strategic recommendations to the marketing team.
  • Support media relations and outreach efforts as required.
  • Coordinate meetings and presentations as necessary.
  • Manage projects independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Qualifications

  • Proven experience with content marketing strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on promoting the achievements of others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with email marketing tools and basic HTML.
  • Creative writing skills with a willingness to conduct research on various topics.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation and a flexible work schedule.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Capability to lift up to 20 lbs.

Education and Experience

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as marketing, journalism, public relations, or business.

Required Experience: 2-4 years of closely related experience.

Work Schedule

The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, with variability in hours and occasional evening work required.
