Position Summary:

As a key member of our team, you will embody and promote our core value of treating others with respect and kindness. Under direct supervision, you will carry out a variety of cleaning and laundry tasks, ensuring that our community remains orderly, clean, and hygienic. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Adhere to the established cleaning timetable.
  2. Perform daily tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping in all communal areas.
  3. Execute scheduled deep cleaning of resident accommodations.
  4. Maintain cleanliness in administrative spaces as per the schedule.
  5. Sanitize restrooms thoroughly.
  6. Respond to requests for carpet cleaning and floor mopping as needed.
  7. Uphold a safe and tidy environment for all residents.
  8. Foster a dignified and compassionate atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and colleagues.
  9. Address requests for assistance from residents, families, and visitors promptly and courteously.
  10. Engage with residents in a manner that reflects empathy, kindness, and respect.
  11. Communicate effectively in a manner that residents can easily understand.
  12. Maintain a secure and safe working environment, minimizing hazards that could lead to accidents.
  13. Practice safe working habits and good body mechanics.
  14. Report any safety concerns to your supervisor immediately.
  15. Assist colleagues when needed.
  16. Be familiar with and follow emergency protocols.
  17. Be available during emergencies or inclement weather as required.
  18. Collaborate effectively with team members and management to complete tasks.
  19. Exhibit a positive and respectful attitude towards workplace policies and procedures.
  20. Adhere to attendance and notification policies.
  21. Participate in training sessions and mandatory meetings.
  22. Dress appropriately according to company dress code.
  23. Maintain confidentiality regarding resident matters, directing inquiries to the nursing supervisor.
  24. Comply with HIPAA regulations.
  25. Provide hands-on support to nursing staff as necessary.
  26. Engage in recreational activities with residents as outlined in the activity calendar.
  27. Assist residents during meal times in the dining area.
  28. Be open to taking on additional projects or responsibilities as needed.
  29. Complete any other reasonable tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

Language Skills:
Ability to read and understand simple instructions and correspondence. Proficient in writing basic correspondence and effectively presenting information in small group settings.

Reasoning Skills:
Ability to apply common sense to follow detailed instructions and address problems with a few concrete variables.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; or one year of relevant experience or training; or a combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position include regular standing, walking, using hands, reaching, and communicating. The role may require occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:
Employees may occasionally be exposed to bloodborne pathogens while performing their duties.
