Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain and oversee the functionality of imaging equipment and facilities.
- Configure and calibrate equipment according to established protocols.
- Operate sophisticated MRI machinery within the imaging department.
- Utilize comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy to capture high-quality diagnostic images.
- Review and process MRI requests, assessing patient conditions for appropriate imaging techniques.
- Prepare and educate patients about MRI procedures, ensuring their understanding and comfort.
- Implement proper hygiene and safety protocols during imaging sessions.
- Administer medications as directed by a physician to enhance imaging clarity.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on all images, manage inventory, and comply with safety standards.
- Participate in the training and mentorship of new staff and students.
- Perform various administrative tasks as needed to support departmental operations.
- Be prepared to remain on-site during emergencies or severe weather conditions.

Qualifications

Education Requirements
  • Technical Diploma or Certificate in Radiology is mandatory.
Licenses and Certifications
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required upon hire.
  • Registered Technologist - Magnetic Resonance Imaging (RTMR) certification must be obtained within 120 days.
  • Registered Technologist (ARRT) certification is preferred upon hire.
Essential Skills and Competencies
  • Expertise in MRI safety protocols.
  • In-depth understanding of cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Familiarity with major MRI equipment and software.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Availability for on-call duties as required.
