Job Overview

This is a challenging opportunity to work in the Human Resources Office (HRO) of the State of Florida Department of Transportation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential personnel records, ensuring compliance with statutes, rules, policies, and guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to respond to requests from internal and external stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $40,500 per year, based on the job description and location. Benefits include health insurance, life insurance, dental, vision, and supplemental insurances, as well as a retirement package, vacation time, and training opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Clerk will be responsible for maintaining official personnel records, including active and separated employee files. This will involve creating and establishing electronic and paper files, accurately scanning and filing digitized documents, conducting audits of employee records, and organizing them appropriately. The successful candidate will also respond to public records requests, receive and submit requests from internal and external stakeholders, locate and organize documents, redact confidential information, and monitor authorized reviews. Additionally, they will answer the HRO main telephone line, personally respond to requests for information, and transfer calls to subject matter experts when necessary.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Section 119, Florida Statutes (FL Public Records law), People First Human Resources Management & Performance and Talent Management Systems, FLAIR Direct, and Nuance Power PDF Advanced software systems. They will also possess skills in organizing records alphabetically and numerically, auditing final work product for accuracy, responding to telephone calls, working independently and collaboratively, and using electronic document management systems. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be able to pass a level 1 background check and demonstrate the ability to work in a large records storage environment.
