About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Community Engineer to join our team at Canonical. As a Community Engineer, you will play a key role in enabling community leaders and participants to achieve their goals, while ensuring that community processes are efficient and well-run.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support community initiatives with technical skills and organizational abilities
  • Collaborate with developers to smooth processes and integrate community plans with Canonical plans
  • Represent community interests to Canonical teams
  • Engage with volunteer developers in the Ubuntu community, addressing their concerns and helping them to create successful tools
  • Provide content and technical support to ensure the community stays engaged and informed

Requirements

  • Technical proficiency in open source software, Linux, and community building
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience working with developer tools and open source projects
  • Ability to work autonomously and assume full ownership of objectives
  • Flexibility with time and ability to work with new technology in a fast-paced environment
