Hourly Compensation: $36.00

Overtime Rate: 1.5x

Job Overview:

Department: Surgery
Shift Timing: 10:30 PM - 8:23 AM, Monday to Friday (4 Days/10 Hours)

Weekly Hours: 40
Certifications Required: BLS, CSFA
On-Call Requirements: Based on departmental needs, typically 1-2 weeknight call shifts per week; one full weekend per 4-week schedule.
Preferred Experience: Neuro, Robotics, Orthopedics (especially total joints), Vascular; prior surgical tech experience is advantageous, EPIC proficiency; may require floating onsite within skill set or to nearby locations if necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in patient resuscitation during critical events.
- Ensure a sterile operating environment by covering patients with surgical drapes and disinfecting incision sites.
- Inspect and manage the availability of sterile and non-sterile surgical tools and supplies.
- Adjust operating room conditions (temperature, humidity, lighting) as per the surgeon's specifications.
- Apply sutures, staples, clips, and drainage systems, and control bleeding through clamping or cauterization.
- Position patients safely to prevent nerve damage or circulation issues and assess their condition post-surgery.
- Maintain an unobstructed surgical field using retractors, sponges, and suctioning equipment.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and blood volume/color during procedures.
- Assist the surgical team with gowning, gloving, and passing instruments or supplies.
- Aid in the application of dressings, casts, splints, braces, and other medical devices.

Qualifications:
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Comprehensive understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong technical skills and a passion for patient care.
- Minimum of two years of current RN Cardiac ICU experience.
- Graduate from an accredited RN program.
- Active and unencumbered RN license in the relevant state.
- One year of Cerner experience required.
