Job Overview

Metro Kia of Madison is experiencing significant growth in our Express Service Department and is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a fast-paced oil change environment.

Work Schedule

This position operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with rotating Saturdays from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Compensation

Pay is commensurate with experience, along with potential sign-on bonuses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct tests to ensure systems and components are secure and functioning correctly.
  • Identify systems or components that may have caused issues.
  • Perform vehicle test drives and inspect fluid levels, refilling as necessary.
  • Check tire pressure for proper inflation and clean and lubricate fittings as required.
  • Install new oil drain plugs and filters, communicating oil levels to team members.
  • Maintain efficiency and precision in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
  • Proactively repair or replace worn parts to prevent vehicle breakdowns.
  • Utilize power tools, machine tools, and standard hand tools for various tasks.
Qualifications
  • Thorough understanding of automotive systems and rapid diagnostic skills.
  • Strong analytical and communication abilities with a desire for continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies, repair techniques, and specifications.
  • Capability to operate electronic diagnostic tools.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • ASE Certification or Technical Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a service department.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment drug screening.
