KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Senior Center Custodial Worker, you will undertake a range of cleaning and minor maintenance tasks for the Senior Center facilities. You will operate under the guidance of the Senior Citizens Administrator, Program Coordinator, and Center Coordinator.

Utilizing strong customer service abilities, you will foster and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, officials, and community members.

Your role will involve operating a vehicle to support departmental and city functions. This position requires a high degree of independence, with minimal supervision expected. You should be capable of collaborating effectively with coworkers when necessary.

PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Operating custodial equipment and performing various cleaning tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and polishing surfaces.
- Changing light bulbs and maintaining cleanliness in restrooms, ensuring supplies are replenished.
- Performing minor repairs and maintenance, including painting and plumbing tasks.
- Keeping records of completed work and monitoring inventory levels of cleaning supplies.
- Reporting any safety or sanitary hazards to supervisors.
- Engaging with senior patrons in a friendly and responsive manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:
This position is subject to the City's Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Program, which includes various testing protocols. A thorough background check is required.
Applicants should possess a combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the required tasks. Knowledge of maintenance equipment and supplies is essential, along with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The role requires regular physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds and performing tasks that involve standing, walking, and using hands to operate tools and equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Employees may encounter moving mechanical parts and work in various conditions, including exposure to wet environments and cleaning chemicals. The noise level is typically quiet during indoor operations.
