Position Overview:
We are looking for a Lead Electrical Transmission Engineer to join our innovative team, tackling complex challenges in the electric transmission sector.
Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will take on the role of Engineer for electric transmission line design initiatives, focusing on high-voltage (HV) and extra high-voltage (EHV) overhead and underground systems for major utility companies.
Technical Expertise:
This role requires applying standards such as NESC, ASCE, ACI, and others in the engineering and design of electrical systems, including voltage conversion and infrastructure enhancement projects.
Project Involvement:
The selected individual will conduct engineering analyses, develop bidding documents, and create plans and specifications, as well as manage material procurement and construction documentation.
Collaboration:
Working closely with a diverse team, this position will involve interaction with clients, project planning, environmental considerations, permitting, and construction management.
Project Stage:
This opportunity is associated with a project currently in the proposal phase, providing a unique chance to influence its direction from the outset.
Work Environment:
This role is based in a flexible work environment, allowing for a hybrid schedule that includes both in-office and remote work.
Qualifications:
To be considered, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in electric utility transmission system design
- Proficiency in reviewing comprehensive transmission line designs, including PLS-CADD models and construction packages.
Knowledge Requirements:
Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE codes, along with experience in project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
Interpersonal Skills:
Ability to work effectively within a team while also demonstrating independence is essential. Strong communication skills with clients and project teams are required.
Leadership Experience:
Previous leadership experience and the ability to supervise others are necessary for this senior-level position.
Travel Requirements:
Periodic travel may be required, and working in client offices is a possibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
- EIT, FE, or Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Familiarity with software tools such as PLS TOWER, Bentley MicroStation, and Autodesk AutoCAD.
