Position Overview:
We are seeking an Internal Audit Specialist I to join our Compliance team. This position is remote, with potential travel required to our main office or nearby hubs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct audits on cases to pinpoint risk areas in line with specific regulatory guidelines, including reviewing timesheets, clock-in times, and onboarding documents.
  • Stay informed on relevant regulations and possess subject matter expertise to educate and train others.
  • Apply findings from a risk-based compliance work plan to audits as needed.
  • Execute investigative actions as directed by management in accordance with established procedures related to inquiries made to the Compliance Department.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of regulatory requirements for assigned state jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with General Managers of assigned jurisdictions and participate in regular meetings.
  • Work alongside colleagues on audits and projects, ensuring high-quality output that meets departmental standards.
  • Monitor jurisdictions daily and promptly escalate any concerns to management.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare audits, investigations, grievances, and complaints.
  • Familiarity with multiple state regulations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and leadership across various jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated skills in time management and adaptability to change.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet established metrics.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to take ownership of projects and make critical decisions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Medicaid-funded personal assistance programs across different state jurisdictions.
  • Experience with Salesforce or Medflyt systems.
