Job Summary:

As a student worker in the Echocardiography department at Virginia Commonwealth University Health, you will have the opportunity to assist in the performance of high-quality sonographic images/exams under the direct supervision of a registered Echo Cardiographer. This role is ideal for students looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the performance of echocardiography exams, including preparing patients, operating ultrasound equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Work closely with registered Echo Cardiographers to ensure high-quality images and exams are produced.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of echocardiography procedures and protocols.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and department efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Current enrollment in a cardiovascular sonography or medical imaging program.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Basic knowledge of echocardiography procedures and protocols.
