About The Role
At CarMax, our supply chain is a pivotal differentiator. Key considerations include determining optimal vehicle acquisition volumes, prioritizing acquisition channels, efficiently managing the movement of millions of vehicles annually, and maximizing profitability in our wholesale auctions. As we innovate and transition more of our operations online, rapid and automated decision-making becomes essential. Our team of business analysts plays a crucial role in unlocking business value through close collaboration with Operations and Product/Technology partners.
As a Senior Manager of Supply Chain Strategy, you will lead analysts in the Supply Chain Strategy team and engage with business stakeholders to provide strategic recommendations that align with our organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster a culture of associate development within the Supply Chain Strategy team while enhancing team engagement.
- Shape the company's strategic direction by delivering analytical insights and strategic guidance on critical issues, ensuring alignment across the organization.
- Collaborate with business leaders to drive execution, utilizing your team to identify key performance indicators, establish measurable objectives, and implement management systems to achieve results.
- Work alongside operations and product/technology executives to develop a multi-year strategic roadmap, providing data-driven insights.
- Guide the Supply Chain Strategy team in consulting on complex analytical challenges and ensure the successful execution of change initiatives.
- Present analytical findings and strategic recommendations to senior leadership to gain consensus for necessary changes.
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in an analytical or strategic capacity.
- A four-year undergraduate degree with a strong academic record (an MBA or Master's in a relevant analytical field is advantageous).
- A strong analytical mindset, with experience in large-scale data analysis to support decision-making (preferably with SQL proficiency).
- A passion for leading a team of dedicated analysts who contribute to both high-level strategy and detailed execution.
- Exceptional communication skills to convey complex concepts and influence executive decision-making.
