The Grounds Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of the Sunnyside Retirement Community grounds. This includes managing a team of maintenance staff, coordinating repairs and maintenance projects, and ensuring the overall appearance and safety of the community's outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating their performance
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance projects, including scheduling and budgeting
  • Ensure the overall appearance and safety of the community's outdoor spaces, including landscaping, irrigation, and snow removal
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and protocols to ensure the community's facilities are well-maintained
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as facilities and administration, to ensure seamless operations
  • Monitor and report on maintenance budgets and expenses

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance or facilities management
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
