At Applied Materials, we're pushing the boundaries of science and engineering to make possible the next generations of technology.

As a Process Engineer III, you'll work on ion implantation system process characterization and highlight superior performance or identify areas to be improved for winning products.

You'll interact with field process engineering and product engineering teams to solve complex problems and develop Best Known Method solutions for stable process quality.

Develop new ion implant processes to enable semiconductor device scaling and performance/yield improvement working with IC manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect data, analyze it, and compile reports on basic process engineering experiments
  • Perform hardware characterization on basic systems
  • Demonstrate efficiency of Ion Implanters to support demos and meet efficiency targets
  • Troubleshoot problems, perform root cause analysis, and resolve process engineering issues
  • Preparation of clear, succinct reports to summarize technical results
  • Interact with customers to resolve basic process engineering issues/problems under direct supervision
  • Cross-organizational work with development and product marketing teams
  • Implement new technology, products, and analytical instrumentation

Requirements:

  • Graduating with a Doctoral degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Must be in good academic standing with a preferred GPA above 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Able to solve complex problems and take a new perspective on existing solutions
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
  • Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus
  • Flexible and adaptable mindset who thrives in a results-driven culture

S Salary Range: $104,000.00 - $143,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members.

In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
