Job Description

The Associate Director of Information Security (ADIS) is a critical role within NY CREATES, responsible for leading the organization's information security program. This position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in IT security, risk management, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement information security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry regulations.
  • Provide technical security consultation on servers, end-point computers, networks, storage, and applications.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of security awareness programs to educate users on security best practices.
  • Assess and evaluate information security risks, monitor compliance with security standards, and respond to security incidents.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of security initiatives.
Requirements
  • Associate degree and ability to obtain a professional security certification (e.g. CISSP, CISA, CISM) within 1 year of being hired.
  • At least 15 years of IT security experience, including technical expertise and leadership roles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in security governance, risk management, and compliance, with a focus on IT security.
  • Knowledge of security regulations and standards, including NIST and HIPAA.
