ABOUT THE POSITION
The Field Engineer will collaborate with a project construction team to develop utility-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) EPC projects. This role involves supporting the site manager and closely working with field supervision to ensure the successful delivery of the project.

We also specialize in energy solutions, gaining recognition as a premier provider of energy development, installation, and maintenance services.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and manage project documentation, drawings, permits, and reports throughout the construction process.
- Collect on-site data and prepare necessary reports for evaluation.
- Track and submit weekly production and productivity metrics.
- Coordinate and participate in field meetings with clients and stakeholders to discuss schedules and progress.
- Collaborate with the Field Superintendent, General Foreman, Foremen, and Project Manager to provide updates on schedules and project advancements.
- Generate Requests for Information (RFI), change orders, and cost estimates with input from the Superintendent.
- Identify out-of-scope work or changes in conditions that necessitate an RFI and notify relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor project as-builts and final submissions.
- Work alongside the Project Manager and Scheduler to update project timelines.
- Prepare internal project budgets and maintain awareness of costs and budget limits.
- Provide field supervision with production data, material tracking, and other administrative support.
- Summarize and track time and material documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or progress towards a Construction or Project Management degree preferred.
- Background in renewables is advantageous if a degree is not held.
- Experience in construction or a strong desire to learn about the construction industry.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, BlueBeam, and web-based software applications.
- A proactive mindset, demonstrating initiative and the ability to work independently.
- Capability to read and interpret Civil, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical drawings.
- Excellent reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- Capacity to work under pressure and adapt to evolving job requirements.
- Dependability and punctuality in all Sturgeon Electric activities.
- Ability to thrive in a team environment and exhibit leadership qualities.
- Positive attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Competence in collaborating effectively with field crews.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- This position requires approximately 90% field time with the flexibility to work remotely.
- Variable working hours from 40 to 60 hours per week based on project demands.
